Umbria - Biking La Dolce Vita - Mountain Bike Holiday

Umbria is a perfect location for a week of off road mountain biking holiday. Join us and develop your mountain biking skills on the mid-level trails of the Lake Trasimeno region, while sampling the unique Umbrian culture and hospitality from our base in a beautiful historic villa.

Situated outside the medieval town of Panicale, in the middle of olive and vine orchards, ‘Villa Rey’ is an ideal base. A wide variety of dirt trails & singletrack lead us through a hilly landscape of orchards, villages and beautiful oak forests along the edge of the Apennine mountain range.

Beautiful hilltop villages that date back to the Middle Ages, churches with amazing frescos provide an insight into the history of the area. During the mountai biking holiday we visit the medieval village of Panicale and see Perugino‘s frescos, ‘Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian’, the ancient fountain and the golden Bordeaux-coloured baroque sun theatre near the adorable town square.

Each day has a new challenge as the trails become more challenging though the week. Our guides will provide you with tips to develop and fine-tune your skills as we explore a wide variety of terrains on rides to Lago Trasimeno, Citta della Pieve and Monte Arale.

And then there is the food…we wake up to a breakfast buffet on the terrace by the swimming pool, during lunch time we’ll either picnic in the countryside or enjoy a local pasta dish and each evening we enjoy a fantastic 3 or 4 course typically Italian dinner outside under the stars.

You can even enjoy an Ayurveda massage if you wish. Our October date even allows the chance to take part in the Olive harvest and a Truffle Hunt.

With many flights from various parts of the UK to Rome this is an amazing way for those looking to get into mountain biking and develop their skills while sampling La Dolce Vita mountain biking holiday.
