South Africa & Botswana - Mountain Bike Holiday

A unique adventure to South Africa and Botswana, that will tick both your mountain biking and wildlife boxes. Following arrival in Johannesburg we’ll head to the famed Mount Anderson and our classy homestead accommodation. Situated at 2000m in the dramatic Drakensberg Mountains and west of the world famous Kruger National Park, we’ll be in a truly breathtaking setting.

The biking during these initial days takes in some great routes including the Bushmans Trail and Goldrush as we explore the old mining trails around Mount Anderson, with our final ride here a real gem as we take in Sabie and the Long Tom Pass before finishing at the wonderful Misty Mountain Lodge, a place just perfect for highland vistas!

A transfer mid-point of the trip takes us over the border to Botswana and The “Land of the Giants” - Mashatu. This privately owned game reserve is dominated by open savannah and the thick river vegetation of the mighty Limpopo River. Our accommodation here are wilderness camps, set up prior to your arrival, that offer great comfort without distracting from a true wilderness experience!

The mountain biking here is a more relaxed affair and we’ll often encounter elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and occasionally see lions and leopards. Accommodation has been kept to a very high standard throughout this trip, with all meals included in the price. Combine this with top biking trails, lots of wildlife spotting and we’ve the experience of a lifetime for you and all by bike!
