We explore the forest trails of Hasmas National Park and Bucovina as we cross high ‘alpine’ meadows and weave between pristine peaks. We cross the Prislop Pass into Maramures. Nestling next to the Ukrainian border, this is a unique region which for centuries was ‘cut off’ by high mountains from the rest of Romania. 

 

Through this mountain biking holiday you’ll find no remnants of the communist era here, but instead be prepared for traditionally dressed friendly locals and farmers gathering hay with horse and carts, 700 year old wooden churches and an achingly beautiful patchwork countryside, where little has changed in millennia let alone centuries!
