Chile & Argentina Lake District - Mountain Bike Holiday

A superb cycling holiday through the Lake District of Chile and Argentina - a landscape of snow capped volcanoes, deep valleys, lakes and forests, set against the awesome backdrop of the Andes - this is an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Well paced, this cycling holiday is on a combination of quiet roads, gravel tracks and earth roads that skirt immense lakes and pass through sleepy villages allowing us to absorb ourselves fully in the Lake District of Chile & Argentina, its people and their way of life. Accommodation is a combination of small hotels, lodges, cabañas & family run hospedajes (B&B's), chosen for their location and hospitality.

Our cycling holiday starts from Puerto Montt, with our initial cycling taking us past Alcerce Andino, and Ensenada, Lago Llanquihue, Volcano Osorno and Saltos de Petrohue. Next we head into Argentina, crossing the border by bike before reaching Villa La Angostura, and then Bariloche, a place famed for its chocolates and Swiss style architecture.

From here we cycle along La Ruta de Las Siete Lagos‚ to San Martin de los Andes, the perfect place to relax & reflect on the cycling holiday so far. More incredible volcanoes and towering arucaria trees line our cycling route back to Chile. Volcan Villarica beckons us to the picturesque town of Pucon, where for the adventurous, the climb to the top of Volcan Villarrica is an experience never to be forgotten! From here, a little more days cycling as we wind our way to through yet more Chilean stunning scenery to Temuco.
